I’ve never had much of a chance to get to know London, and considering a good friend and old house-mate of mine lives there now, we thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up and do what we like to do best – eat and shop!
We went to the Spitalfields market in East London first, with the intention of eating as soon as possible. The market place had a lot of restaurants to choose from for lunch, and after looking up and down for a place where we both wanted to eat, we spotted a cute ‘naturally fast food’ place called Leon. We both bought the chargrilled chicken and chorizo club wrap and it was amazing! Liddy also got a side of the Leon baked fries which were so good, too.
Replete with chicken, chorizo, garlic and chilli goodness, we explored the rows upon rows of quaint and eclectic stalls, packed with people all on the same Saturday mission.
Being a student, I didn’t want to over spend so I budgeted myself, promising only to treat myself to a few things. I found a cute pair of handmade running-style shorts and a handmade gold-plated penny necklace (from different stalls), and managed to bag both for only £25.
The shorts I love so much! They’re made out of an elastic material and even though they look small they fit really well and are so comfortable. The name inside of the shorts is Simone Hooper but I can’t find her online anywhere!
I didn’t manage to catch the name of the lovely woman who made this necklace either, but I really regret not asking. She did mention that she was trying to start an online shop and I would 100% be on that site all of the time! Another miss! Guess I’ll just have to go back to East London to find them again… and maybe pick up a few more things.
